Only 3 Days Left. Five Checks Before Submitting Your Application

The deadline for the IVACE 2026 energy efficiency grants is 29 October. With only three days remaining until the deadline, now is the time to check that the project, energy savings calculations and documentation are properly prepared. Five checks can help us identify last-minute errors and submit a consistent and technically justified application.

After several weeks discussing the IVACE 2026 grants, we have reached the decisive moment. With only three days remaining until the deadline, at this stage my recommendation is not to start reconsidering from scratch which machine we want to purchase, but to check that everything we have prepared makes sense, that the figures are properly justified and that the documentation accurately reflects the project we intend to carry out.

Before submitting the application, I would review these five points.

1. Are the energy savings properly justified?

It is not enough to state that the new machine consumes less.  We need to understand the baseline situation, explain how the installation operates and justify how much energy we expect to save through the proposed investment.

In addition, IVACE 2026 requires a minimum ratio of 150 toe of annual primary energy savings per million euros of eligible investment.

If the savings have been calculated solely using the manufacturer's commercial data, it is advisable to check that the assumptions reflect the actual operating conditions of the installation.

2. Has the eligible investment been correctly defined?

A machine may cost 200,000 euros without necessarily having 200,000 euros in eligible costs. We need to review which expenses are directly related to the energy efficiency improvement and, where applicable, how the reference investment has been determined.

The total project budget and the amount used to calculate the grant do not always match.

This is a distinction that should be clear before submitting the application.

3. Are the quotations consistent with the technical report?

Another important check: the technical report describes a specific investment, including particular equipment, characteristics and performance specifications. The quotations must clearly identify that same solution. If the technical report describes one installation but the quotations reflect a different configuration, there is an inconsistency that needs to be resolved.

We should also check that the required quotations were requested at the appropriate time and that the choice of supplier is properly justified.

4. Do we have all the documentation ready?

The IVACE 2026 application requires an energy audit or technical report, together with the administrative and supporting documentation applicable to each applicant. Now is the time to review forms, declarations, company details and annexes.

I would not leave it until the last day to check whether a signature, declaration or any document required for the application is missing.

Good technical justification also requires a correctly submitted administrative application.

5. Are we ready to submit the application electronically?

This final check may seem obvious, but it is essential. The procedure is entirely electronic, so we must verify that the digital certificate works, that the company's legal representation is properly accredited and that we can access the application procedure.

After submission, it is advisable to check that the corresponding electronic registration receipt has been generated and to keep a copy.

Preparing the documentation is not the same as having submitted the application.

The final review is also part of a good project

At AGB Ingeniers, when we support an industrial investment, we aim to ensure that the technical and administrative aspects progress together.

During these final days, it is not about redoing all the work, but about checking that every element is consistent with the others.

And there is another reason not to wait: IVACE uses the time of submission as the criterion for awarding grants, always subject to compliance with the requirements and budget availability.

If the available budget is exhausted, the call provides for a provisional reserve list for applications submitted within the deadline.

IVACE 2026 closes on Thursday, 29 October.

There is still time to carry out one final review.

Because it is not about rushing to submit an application, but about not leaving until the last day what we can still check today.
